Save The Children is hiring for the following positions:
The Renewable Energy Advisor is a new position in Save the Children International and is part of the Renewable Energy Unit which is part of the Global Enterprise Technology Team.
The role holder will consult with the Global Humanitarian Technology Manager, Global Construction Lead, and senior supply chain leaders for setting the strategy, technical standards, safety and identifying capable suppliers of renewable energy solutions.
The role will be focused on supporting country and field teams in the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Specifically, to act as a first point of contact for advice on renewable energy systems inclusive of needs assessment, system specification, procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance.
The role holder will also ensure that all renewable energy systems are fit for purpose, compliant to high safety standards and legally compliant with national legislation.
Whilst most technologies deployed will be solar based, the Renewable Energy Unit will also manage other technologies including power storage systems and wind generators.
This role will help Save the Children achieve the aims it has set out in its climate change strategy as well as contributing to some of the aims of the UN Global Sustainability Goals.
Partnerships and Localization Specialist
ROLE PURPOSE: This new role will provide strategic and technical support on localisation and partnership and play a key role in the operationalisation of the Kenya Country Office localization strategy as well as the partnership strategy. This role will be under the direction of the Head of Awards and Partnerships and the Senior Management Team (SMT). In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
